November 20, 2012

I have been slow at getting my next blog entry up, things have been a bit crazy with the move and Thanksgiving coming up. I'm gearing up to sell my personalized Christmas ornaments again so between that, designing a new web site for a client, and the move I've been super busy! But I would rather be busy than bored :-)

I am finally able to walk (carefully) for short periods. he doctor says my foot is still slow to heal in one particular area (the reconstructed instep/arch) but I start physical therapy after Thanksgiving and since there is hardware holding that bone in place, I am able to put partial weight on it. I guess I got too excited and did too much because it started hurting so the Doctor scolded me today lol. I'm just impatient, I want to walk again!!! But I am on my way there, I just have to slow down and not push myself too much.

I came up with another quote for the Air Element today, and I took it from a comment that I made on a photo I had posted on facebook a while back. It reminded me to hold onto inner peace, no matter how difficult things can get at times.

I have been putting a lot of time the past few day into building a new web site for a client and it was taking a toll on my body. I am recovering from a major foot reconstruction surgery that I had on August 30th and I am finding the need to put my foot up while I am sitting at my computer working, otherwise, I end up with a lot of swelling in my foot. Dealing with unpleasant circumstances can make it difficult to stay calm and focused, so it helps to read uplifting words, listen to soothing music, and looking at images that help to calm the soul.

I look forward to the day the doctor says I can get rid of this wheel chair. I am able to use crutches once in a while but I still can't put full weight on my foot yet. This situation is teaching me to be graceful and patient with myself. Contrary to how quickly our body heals from a bone fracture, a total reconstruction of your body foundation (the foot) takes a longer time to heal and rehabilitate from. When I broke my ankle 12 years ago, due to an injury from another auto accident (I swear I don't cause these accidents lol) it caused some soft tissue damage in my foot that, over time, has caused increasing problems. I thought it should have been addressed at the time but the Doctor said that he thought I should wait till it bothers me and then have something done. This is why I constantly say that Doctors are merely practicing their craft.

I have been spending time organizing my blogs and getting advertising set up so I can help promote businesses owned or run by a few people I know. I gave Real 2 Net a total face lift and decided to try the new dynamic view template but that wasn't looking the way I wanted it to Grrrrr.... so I went back to a simple appearance and made it easier to read as it is. I also updated that blog and transferred the travel entries over to a new blog titled Destination Detour and I will be posting a new destination at the beginning of each month. Soon you will be able to see information for a travel agent friend of mine and have access to booking your travel through her as well as other helpful pages on your travel needs.

I need to do some work on a web site I was recently hired to build so the rest of this week will be devoted to that, however, I will also include a link to that site when it is done. It is a company in central Washington that offers a photo booth for events such as weddings, birthdays, family reunions, and other public events and parties. I am hoping that this will help me get other clients who want to have a site built or graphics and logos designed for their business as well.

I have been offline for a bit due to moving into a new place but I just got internet and cable installed today so I am back on the grid and ready to get back to work on the blog entries, and my book. The one thing I hate most about moving is not knowing where everything is. No matter how you mark the boxes, it always seems something gets lost in the move lol. But the most important room in the house is organized.... THE KITCHEN!!!! The menu for last night was baked salmon yummmm!

I have my desk set up in the perfect spot, its in a corner where I have a 90 degree outdoor view so I can see nature as it changes to winter. The heater is right here in this corner so I will stay toasty and warm while the scenery changes to a snow covered landscape. We had our first snow a couple days ago, I saw flakes coming down on the way home from church. Monday morning brought the sunshine so it melted everything, but there is still a light dusting of snow on the nearby hills so I suspect we will have more snow in the near future.

Now.... back to work on the blog! I am almost done with my next entry so it will be posted shortly :-)

Yesterday I created the journal archives and made a special button to take my readers back to the blog. I really do enjoy being able to creatively express myself through art and words. It brings a sense of purpose into my life and it helps me focus on positive things.

I also started work on my next blog post, which will be in the Air Element, and spiritual in nature. This particular entry will touch on some sensitive things regarding honesty and how we communicate with others. The research I do for each post also helps me learn new skill and gives enlightenment to my soul. It is almost like going to school and each subject I write on is an assignment for class. I may not receive a degree at the end of the project, but I will graduate from this with more knowledge and education, as well as a sense of personal satisfaction.

I took time to set up my next 3 posts today and picked the quotes for each new entry. I also check the stats for this blog and was pleased to see so many new viewers. Most are from links I posted on facebook but I have a few viewers from outside of the country that I'm not sure where they came from. I guess the next step in my marketing is to get a Twitter page? I'm not so sure about that one though, I've never been very good at keeping up with Twitter. It seems to me to be a very time taking project and I have enough to focus on right now :-)

November 4, 2012

After several days of working on the design and layout, I finally made my first blog post today and I feel pretty good about it. I have owned other blogs in the past but I consider them practice rounds lol. This is the first blog I have created with a specific purpose in mind and goals for the future of the blog. I designed all of my own graphics and took time to get everything just the way I wanted it to be.

My life has been filled with many experiences which have taught me and inspired me. I am the person I am today because of the trials I have overcome and I am grateful for those experiences, even the ugly one's. I believe that there is always something good to be gained, even from the worst circumstance, and it has helped me to focus on the positive things in life and learn to let go of the negative. I am not perfect, God is not yet done with me, but I have value and purpose in life and I am delighted at the opportunity to share these concepts with others in hopes that they too can learn and grow.
